FAQ

Questions, answered

How much RAM does a Project Zomboid server need?+

Plan for 6–8 GB as a minimum, and more as you add players and Workshop mods. Our Base Camp 8 GB plan is the comfortable baseline; a big modded server with lots of players does better on the 12 GB Outbreak plan.

How do I add Workshop mods?+

Full file access lets you add the Workshop IDs and Mod IDs to the server config, and the server downloads them on start. A common gotcha is that Workshop ID and Mod ID are different values and both must be listed.

What ports does Project Zomboid use?+

The default ports are 16261 and 16262 (UDP). On a managed Nxeon server those are opened for you and the connect details are provided automatically.

Why won't my mods load?+

Almost always a config mismatch: the Workshop IDs and Mod IDs lists must both be filled in and correct, and load order can matter. All players also need the same mods installed client-side.

Is this managed, or do I set it up myself?+

Fully managed one-click hosting — no server binary or -Xmx flag to configure yourself. Order a plan and it's provisioned and online in minutes, with full file access ready from the start.
